Nursing Home and Hostel facilities are provided for the frail and aged of the community in a pleasant home-like atmosphere. Qualified staff are on duty 24 hours per day.

Lochiel House provides 20 low level care single rooms for both permanent residents and respite care clients. Low level assistance is for those who require some help with daily tasks, attended to by qualified Personal Care Attendants and a Supervisor.

Residents each have their own room with ensuite and are able to retain their own furniture and personal items. If requested couples can share a room.

Many activities are provided for physical and mental stimulation, including music, outings (fishing, picnics, shopping, theatre, luncheons), games, computers, visiting entertainers, parties, celebrations, music therapy and newspaper readings, in fact lots of fun and laughter is always on the agenda.

With consultation from our dietitian, appropriate and tasty meals are provided from the main kitchen.

The Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist visit regularly.

The Hostel is located separately but close by the main ORH site for responsive medical support

Residents of the Nursing Home reside in a purpose built and uniquely decorated 15 bed unit with both single and twin-bed rooms and the ability for couples to share. The nursing home is for those whose care requirements are high level.

Caring Registered Nurses look after the needs of the residents in a home like atmosphere, with community dining room, two lounge areas, an enclosed deck area with garden and a variety of cosy nooks available.

Residents are encouraged to participate in activities with the assistance of Diversional Therapist, Patient Services Assistants, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. Activities include outings, entertainers, games, beauty therapies, exercises and so on.

Diversional Therapist/Patient Services Assistants

The Diversional Therapist and Patient Services Assistants provides a variety of occupational and diversional therapies to residents, including exercises, games, outings to see entertainers, places of interest or just for a drive, beauty treatments, entertainment, parties, music therapy, aromatherapy, movies, etc.
