Visiting Medical Officers
The medical clinic doctors require credentialing and medical privileging for visiting rights to the hospital. The Visiting Medical Officers provide medical, minor surgical and obstetric services according to their visiting privileges.
Credentialing is undertaken by the Orbost Regional Health Credentialing Committee or the sub-regional Credentialing Committee and medical appointments are made on advice from the Medical Appointments Advisory Committee to the Board of Management of Orbost Regional Health. Dr Craig Winter, Director of Medical Services can provide advice in regard to medical services at Orbost. The agency will put you in touch with the Director of Medical Service as appropriate.
Currently we have five Visiting Medical Officers who provide services locally from the Orbost Medical Clinic and on an outreach basis to Moogji Aboriginal Council and Cann River Bush Nursing Centre at regular intervals.
