Personal Care Assistant – Lochiel House

Orbost Regional Health is seeking expressions of interest from suitable qualified personal care attendants to provide care at Lochiel House. The successful applicant will be required to work day and night shifts, weekends and public holidays. Extra shifts above contract may be rostered or on ‘call in’ basis. Applicants must have some flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice.

Brief outline of Position including Job Responsibilities:

Successful applicants will be responsible for providing home-like, person-centred care in a safe and secure environment for residents of Lochiel House. Candidates should have previous experience in personal care and a demonstrated commitment to aged care, have basic computer knowledge and skills, an understanding of OH&S issues relating to this position, have a friendly and helpful manner, be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility and commitment.

It will also be advantageous if applicants have sound knowledge of quality improvement process, experience working with or knowledge of dementia management and an understanding of harm minimisation for residents such as falls prevention.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certificate III or IV in Personal Care
